Many secular books written on this topic avoid quoting Christian sources. Authors of such books often state that sources that have been "Christianized" and are unreliable. The end result is often one that paints ancient Europe as immoral barbarians. This is due to the bulk of the sources being used coming from enemies of Europe.
This book is different. It quotes many sources from different walks of life and because the author openly accepted Christian sources (which made up the bulk of Europe) the result is very balanced and respectful. Most of all it puts Europeans in a positive light. It is easy to read and well written. A must for the family library.
