Author: William Pascoe Goard
The Epistle to the Hebrews is unique among the other Epistles. There is the question of authorship. The other Epistles are signed or indication is given to the authorship but no human signature is attached to this great Epistle.
It is the authors deduction as he explains in the Introduction to The Statesmanship Of Jesus that the author of Hebrews is God "the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ." It is Mr. Goards belief that through this Epistle Jehovah God delivers His complete message: His Faithfulness the Redemption of Israel and Christ's Atoning Sacrifice for the sins of the world.
This Epistle goes on to deal with the Covenants both national and racial which God made with Abraham Isaac and Jacob and Mr. Goard gives us his excellent commentary on these significant subjects.
Mr. Goard further rewards the reader as he gives his thought provoking interpretations regarding what he believes this Epistle has to say about why we need national repentence . . . what "dead works" are . . . and what "eternal judgement" is.
Reading this book will force one to re-think one's idea of what it really means to be in the "army of Christ." Paperback
